work hard, play hard.

i have one fifty-four hour work week (plus at home studying and homework) under my belt.  here is my report thus far:

  1. i was out of bed, ready and on my way to work each morning before i would have even rolled out of bed a month ago.  those sunrises, though!
  2. mental overload is an understatement.  learning what is basically a new language and multiple computer programs, plus two offices and new people is so much to take in.
  3. it's been reaffirmed that i'm an over-achiever.  especially in the classroom setting.
  4. commuting to eastgate for the week makes me very happy i won't have more than a five minute and two stoplight commute on a regular basis.
  5. i've met some cool peeps, this is for sure.
  6. i've learned to be aware of my surroundings because once you stand up from your desk, you might be a target.  there are many types of object that you could get hit by, but nerf darts and racquetball type balls seem to be the faves.  i don't think anyone is safe.  (i'm also currently looking into the type of gun i'd like to invest in.)
  7. never in my life have i seen so many victory noisemakers--alarm, cowbell, horns, maracas.
  8. i've also never in my life seen everyone watch espn on a flatscreen mounted to the wall in the middle of the sales floor all day long.
  9. i think they call it "extended college" for a reason.  but hey, if i'm gonna work hard and spend that amount of time with my coworkers in the confines of an office, i will appreciate any company that goes out of its way to make my time enjoyable.
  10. i'm pretty happy. :)

so far so good, right?!!
